Cannot create databases
Q. I just downloaded the latest release of super-fp and I still can't create a database with database wizard
A. One of your scenery add-ons is incompatible. Try making the database with the Add-On "unchecked" together with all your other add-ons. It will probably do it nicely. Then run the wizard again adding your add-ons one at a time to find out which one is incompatible. It is likely also that one of your AFCAD2 files is doing this to you

A. You may find a tutorial along with SFP3 installation. You may use these FAQs (they will be updated regularly) - finally you may find technical support in our forum

Error access violation
Q. Just loaded sfp 3 but cannot creat a database when pressing convert but nothing happens. If I open main sfp get access violation. I'm using win98SE, and fs2004
A. That is related on running SFP under WIN9.x. It does not happen under an NT compatible platform. Upgrade to WIN2000 or WIN/XP

Flight Simulator not installed on the machine
Q. When I run the database wizard it says 'Flight Simulator not installed on the machine!! But it is, even on the same drive!!
A. You have to make sure your registry contains a valid FS2002 or FS2004 entry. If not, run regedit.exe and create a new key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\8.0 in case of FS2002; or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\9.0 in case of FS2004: name it EXE Path and make the value point to your FS2002 or FS2004 main directory.

I can find where you can change the colors display...
Q. I can find where you can change the colors display but I can not find where you can change the color that is used when you highlight a state. The color is yellow very bright yellow! I would like to change this if possible.
A. Starting release 3.0.1 you can customize the display selection color, too.

I can't find out how to specify the aircraft.
Q. I can create a flight plan but I can't find out how to specify the aircraft. The result is that the altitudes created by the plan are unsuitable for the aircraft. How do I fix this?
A. When you have all your legs loaded, just press Shift+Ctrl+D or use Flight Plan->Aircraft menu - highlight the plane you want to use and the click on the Set button. Click on OK to save the change. SFP will ask you Aircraft database has changed, do you want to save it? - answer yes. At this point the flight plan will update with the new aircraft info and height.

Manual Altitudes
Q. I was wondering if there is a way to set the altitude manually for the flight plan. I prefer to choose the altitude I want for each flight depending on aircraft, direction of flight and length of flight. I just downloaded this today and am trying to learn it and I do like it so far. I do like it so far and being able to edit the altitude would be great.
A. At the moment, no way. That would involve re-engineering the flight plan algorithm and that is not an easy task. That does not mean I won't implement it, however. Stay tuned...

NAT and NOTAMs
Q. Could NATs, NOTAMs, SIGMETs, and TAFs be integrated into SFP? It would be great if they could be downloaded.
A. I will see what I'm able to do with SFP 4.

The default Super Flight Planner aircraft database...
Q.The default Super Flight Planner aircraft database doesn't include all of the FS 2004 aircraft. How can they as well as other add-on aircraft be imported into SFP?
A.Up to now it is not possible. That is regrettable but the FS2004 aircraft file format lacks all those informations (such as descent rate, climb fuel) that are necessary to build a realistic flight plan. The same problem goes with all the other flight planners I know of. So, the only solution is to manually enter aircraft info.

Waypoint namings
Q. How do I get SFP to show all my waypoints, rather than just calling them fix01 etc?
A. They are called 'fix01' etc. when SFP is auto-routing. Therefore I'll assume you filed an auto-routed FP. On Auto-route options dialog box (Flight Plan-AutoRoute-Options), uncheck the "Create GPS Fixes if necessary" switch box.

Zoom box?
Q. One feature I'd like to see is a zoom box. Makes it way quicker to "zoom in" on a particular area.
A. Starting SFP 3.0 you have a Zoom Window (I assume it's the same!). On the Zoom toolbar, click on the Zoom Window button, or hit CTRL+W. The mechanism is same as AutoCAD: click the button, move the mouse pointer over the moving map, left-click and move the mouse on the desired area.
