Guys,
As I am now busy writing Super Flight Planner 5 I would like to ear some wish and tips from you, the end-users. I have opened a new forum where on the Forum page.
[...]
Please kindly note that site software will be almost totally replaced during next few weeks. It will be moved to Joomla 1.5 (but I'm also considering something like WordPress with a Forum) and probably all membership info will be lost. While that means a new registration needed, it will solve problems that current version's having now, such as having to click twice to get to forum or lost password system not always working as it should. Sorry for inconvenience.
The WEB software has been upgraded due to a deface which happened last day. Site should now be protected however some malfunction may happen during the next few days: if so, it'll be caught and corrected, for any issues try to come back later.
I have released Super Flight Planner 4, RC 4. Please find it in the download section, or go to avsim.com (if it's not online yet, wait a few hours). Unfortunately I'm very tired, I've been working all day to prepare the distro and I'm not willing to finish documentation about new IPC now: please wait tomorrow or after tomorrow.
Just one useful info: SFP is able to fly the current plan loaded in Flight Simulator (instead of writing routines to build my own GPS I tune the autopilot heading value to GPS Course to Steer as returned from FS: it's simpler and ensures you never go off-route with consequent ATC intervention as it's the case with 3rd party add-ons using theit own means). To enable auto-fly, turn on the IPC monitor and check the autofly field (you can find it by pressing the Assist button). Later on, enable autopilot in FS (press Z) and turn on heading hold. This will alow SFP to drive the aircraft using FS GPS Data.
Expect other info over the next few days.
Alex.
The download system has been changed from Remository to Docman, a faster, lighter and simpler download manager. Hopefully that should solve the various download problems reported during past days.
A couple of new FAQs have been added to FAQ section, under Super Flight Planner 4 category: Airports on the water and IPC Issues.
Enjoy.
It seems that blank page load bug on Forum has been fixed. Enjoy.
While waiting for proper documentation, FAQ section as been updated with an entry to help people get started using the new logbook feature. Hope it helps...
Hello People
I would like to inform I have successfully implemented the first one of the several steps necessary to bring fresh air to the Flight Simulator link interface. The first job has been the reengineering of the existing IPC routines.
I have heavily changed the code in order to strip out access violation issues given by multi-threading.
The link routine now doesn't talk directly to Moving Map any longer, it instead uses multi thread windows to exchange data throught the Windows message processing queue, making the code virtually AV safe. The code is a little bit slower (unnoticeable however) while the planner still runs smoothly. I can see the result of my efforts by having Super Flight Planner and FSX running and linked together on my desktop since almost 8 hours without any error at all...
The problem with the latest Super Flight Planner download has been solved. The file you are going to download now is really version 6.0.0.240.
Enjoy.
